Intergovernmental Relations

The Free State Provincial Government Sector Departments have approved a number of projects for the 2011/2012 financial year and outer financial years. These projects cover key provincial functions such as police, roads and transport, education and health.

Agriculture

• Funding of storeroom, handling facility, water reticulation and fence at Maphira Trust (beef and pig production) in Theunissen 
• Funding of storeroom, handling facility, water reticulation and fence at Mothe Trust (beef and pig production) in Theunissen 
• Funding of handling facility for beef cattle at Monare Beef Cattle in Theunissen 
• Land care and establishment of pastures for Dijane Trust
• Funding of fishery project at Brandfort

Cooperative Governance, Traditional Affairs & Human Settlements

• Construction of Community Hall in Ikgomotseng (Soutpan)
• Renovation of Ipeleng Community Hall in Majwemasweu (Bramdfort)
• 300 subsidies 
• Multi-purpose Centre (Masilo)
• Street and storm water drainage system (Masilo and /Makeleketla)
• Water and sanitation household connections (Tshepong and Ikgomotseng)

Government Garage, Department of Rural Development and Office of the Premier

• Fleet management
• Renovation of Ipeleng Community Hall in Majwemasweu (Bramdfort)
• Construction of foot bridge in Boipatong and Masekeng (Makeleketla/Winburg)

Health

• Provision of ambulances and implementation of HIV/AIDS programmes
• Medical equipment for the Winburg clinic
• Medical equipment for the Majwemasweu clinic

Police, Roads and Transport

• Extension of ZR Mahabane (formerly R30) road between Glen and Virginia
• Construction of access roads in Masilo and Ikgomotseng (Soutpan), Tshepong (Verkeerdevlei) and Winburg /Makeleketla
• Upgrade of Soutpan – Bultfontein – Wesselsbron – Hoopstad road

Support in terms of Operation Clean Audit

Social Development

Funded bakery projects in Tshepong, Verkeerdevlei and Makeleketla, Winburg.

National Department of Water Affairs

• Funding of feasibility study conducted throughout Masilonyana. 
• Blue and green drop interventions

Public Private Partnerships

The Masilonyana Local Municipality, Harmony Goldfields and Star Diamonds funded the following projects;

• A brick-making project at Masilo
• Extension of classrooms in Masilo (Reseamohetse), Wynandsfontein (Theunissen) and Sasconia (Brandfort). 
• Fencing of cemeteries in all Masilonyana units 
• Upgrading / paving of gravel roads leading to Phahameng cemetery (Masilo) and the Theunissen cemetery (Theunissen).
